While taking a break from coloring my keychains, i thought of coloring this picture on a whim. I didn't expect myself to spend a tremendous amount of time on this. hahaha
Started out as a doodle of Alfred and Yong Soo(because i was trying out the AmericaxKorea couple *Blue-Fox enjoys so much lol) Then i was like "hey, why not RussiaxNorth Korea to compliment it??" So yeah, it became this; The Korean War
Most of this pic was experimental. First time trying an entirely dark brown-toned pallet, the coloring style, and applying textures. I think my coloring got worse. OTL The shading is all over the place...
The korean at the top literally translates to "Fatherland Liberation War" the name the north formally calls the war. And the korean at the bottom translates to "Korean War" which is what the war is commonly called in the south. (according to wikipedia anyway)
Art and Hyung Soo (North Korea) (c) Lowah Alfred, Ivan, Yong Soo, APH (c) Himaruya Hidekaz
Dude, when I saw "Forgotten War" I totally thought of The War of 1812, LOL! Guess I was wrong!!! XD

Okay I have to ask about the symbolisation in this picture, because it seems like the US and Russia(USSR) is holding the Koreans back, even though they both saw the war as a way to gain influence in those areas. And considering that the US went head on into the war alongside S.Korea it seems od that he wouldnt be pointing guns at N.Korea as well. And even then USSR Never really interviened directly, they sent the North Koreans some guns, weapons and other tools to wage war with, like the US did in Afghanistan when the USSR tried to invade them. But really the one who should be standing on N.Koreas side is China, with maybe the USSR in the back.
People tend to only focus on the USA - Russia relationships during those times.
My grandma lived through this war. She told me what my family line originally comes from North Korea...

I don't know if it's fair to suggest that America is pulling the strings of South Korea in a similar way to Russia and the North. Didn't MacArthur help drive back an invading North Korean army out of Seoul?
